e received a nice package from the kind folks at Emerald City Enterprises with a couple different styles of their BBQ sauces. This one in particular that I tried was the Bold BBQ sauce because I was interested to see what was so ‘bold’ about it.

I am sure this would go well with chicken fingers as a dip or poured over top of chicken wings.

When I first opened the box of sauces, I have to be honest, I was a little hesitant about the sauce because I thought it had too much of a small-time feel to it. The label had a cheesy drawing of “Oz” and it didn’t have much flare. However, after doing my research and looking up “Oz”, the label picture is him to a “T” and it all made sense. So after the initial questioning of the sauce, it kind of all made sense after figuring things out. One thing was for sure from the beginning is that it is clearly labeled as to which sauce it was.

The sauce is relatively dark red/light brown in color and looked to be runny, not one of the sauces that you would use to lather on anything. So when I opened the bottle, it didn’t really have that much of a ‘bold bbq’ smell to it, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I tried a little bit on a spoon and was pleasantly surprised with the taste of it.

OZ Boss Bold with Food

I tried it one evening with a cheeseburger and it went great with it. The boldness never came out, but it still had a great taste to it. It is definitely more of a dipping sauce or a sauce you pour on the meat after you are done grilling it, but it doesn’t make it any less of a sauce. I am sure this would go well with chicken fingers as a dip or poured over top of chicken wings. Regardless, this sauce was better than my initial reaction to it. Good work, Oz.

From OZ:
They tried it on shrimp, marinated salmon in it and after hearing how it was great on everything I realized that it was no ordinary BBQ sauce that we created…it was “Big Boss-The Everything Sauce”

I have been using Big Boss Sauce for three years after hearing about OZ from the Philcast, at the time a Milwaukee area podcast and now a radio show in the Fox Valley area. The Big Boss BBQ Sauce is my ultimate go-to zest up for nearly anything. Most recently I poured BB BBQ on a pork chop. It was magically delicious! Want to turn a veggie burger into a VEG-“E” Burger? Add Big Boss BBQ!!!

I also bought a case of a variety of sauces one year as stocking stuffers! The Family LOVED them!
